Why It Matters
Partnership Goals
Quote from NJSB "We are happy to move forward with this kind of mutual partnership and really appreciate the opportunity to connect with your audience! We've given some of the podcasts a listen and love what we hear, you and your guests had us laughing. Our steel is only as good as the hands that shape it, and this partnership celebrates that synergy."— NJSB

ABOUT New Jersey Steel Baron, LLC:
New Jersey Steel Baron was founded in 2010 by Aldo Bruno to supply consistent, quality steel alloys to the knife making and bladesmithing communities. They pride themselves on their dedication to the individual maker, whether hobbyist, master smith, or CNC machinist.
It is their hope to create lasting relationships and help connect their customers with quality materials, resources, services, and information needed to grow and continue in their craft.
They continually strive to source the best materials, quality service providers, and expand their capabilities to help our customers grow their skill sets and business.
They have helped introduce new steels to market including 80CrV2 and our own Nitro-V formula. He will be joining our panel of Host, Co-Host and Guest Host to bring cutting edge humor and technical knowledge to a growing community of makers and enthusiasts. As an engineer and entrepreneur, he brings a special aspect to our maker community.
Owner and Executive Producer, Chip Carlisle reports “I am so happy to add another maker of exceptional character and stewardship in the makers community. As a well respected teacher, author, maker, podcaster and inventor, there is no better fit into the line up of talent on our show. It’s truly a Blessing.”
ABOUT Kyle Daily:
He has been using knives for as long as he can remember. When he was little, he was always helping his mom and dad in the kitchen, helping his uncle fillet fish, or finding small jobs to complete with his knives. When he was young he almost always had a knife in his pocket and may have forgotten to take it out once or twice before going to school!
He went to college for Mechanical Engineering Technology at Purdue University and was always interested in manufacturing and metallurgy. While there, he got interested in a wide variety of knives and started buying more unique, expensive knives. During summers and winter breaks he worked at a machine shop that was in his hometown as well. Working there, he learned how to make many different things and expanded some of the skills he still uses today.
One of his coworkers introduced him to bladeforums.com and told him about Fiddleback Forge. Andy, the owner, was an electrical engineer who started making knives. He did many different forum posts on how he made knives and things he did that helped Kyle learn what to do. He was hooked! He had been looking for something that he could make without a lot of specialized equipment, and decided this was it.
Soon after, Kyle went to the Blade Magazine Knife Show in Atlanta, GA. He was able to meet many of the knife makers that he had been following on the Internet, who were extremely nice and told him some of their tricks of the trade. One of the guys, Dan Eastland (an apprentice of Andy Roy at the time), invited Kyle to come and see the shop and some of the things they did to make knives firsthand. This was extremely helpful, and I decided right then I would start making my own knives. The rest is history and a portfolio of beautiful knives.
